Use JPG to BMP - free
Frequently asked questions
Why would I need BMP instead of JPG?
Some older Windows applications and legacy intake systems specifically require uncompressed BMP files.
Will the BMP file be larger than the JPG?
Yes, typically much larger, since JPG compresses photographic detail and BMP does not compress at all.
Does this add compression artifacts?
No new artifacts are added, though any compression already present in the source JPG carries over, since BMP simply stores the pixels as-is.
