How this works in your browser
The phrase is split on whitespace and the first letter of each resulting word is taken and capitalised, with punctuation attached to a word ignored rather than treated as a separate token. Every word contributes regardless of length, which matches how most real acronyms are formed, though whether to keep short connecting words is a judgement the tool leaves to you by letting you edit the phrase and try again. The whole operation runs in your browser, so a project name that has not been announced yet is not transmitted anywhere.

Should I drop small words like of and the?
Usually, if including them produces something awkward. Real acronyms are inconsistent about this precisely because they are chosen for how they sound rather than by rule. Try it both ways and pick the one that reads better.
