Will the scan be in colour?

My landscape document came out stretched. Why?
Because every page is produced at a fixed portrait shape close to A4 proportions. A wide document mapped onto that comes out squeezed vertically. It stays fully readable, but if the proportions matter, scan the page and then rotate the resulting PDF, or photograph it normally and crop instead.
How should I photograph the page for the best result?
Even, indirect light with no hard shadow across the paper, the whole page visible with a little margin around it, and the camera roughly square to the page. Perspective correction fixes an angled shot, but it cannot recover a corner that fell outside the frame or detail lost to glare.
Are my documents uploaded anywhere?
