How this works in your browser
The invoice is laid out as a print-styled document in your browser, with line totals and the grand total computed from your quantities and rates as you type. Producing a PDF through the browser’s own print dialog rather than generating one in JavaScript is a deliberate choice: the print pipeline already handles page size, margins, fonts and text selection properly, so the resulting file is smaller, sharper and searchable, and the page does not need to carry a PDF library. Nothing is transmitted at any stage, which matters given an invoice contains your client’s name, your rates and your business details.

How do I save the invoice as a PDF?
Click "Download / Print" and choose "Save as PDF" as the destination in your browser’s print dialog. Going through the print pipeline rather than generating a PDF in JavaScript gives a smaller file with selectable text and correct page margins.
Can I add or remove line items?
Yes. "Add Line Item" appends a row, and the × at the end of any row removes it. There is no limit on how many you add.
Is my invoice data stored anywhere?
Only in your own browser. The draft is kept in local storage so returning to the tool restores your details, and "Clear" wipes it. Your logo, client list and figures are never sent to a server, which is the main reason to use this over a cloud invoicing service for one-off billing.
What size should my logo be?
Around 240 by 240 pixels works well, and the file must be under 1MB. It is embedded directly into the invoice, so it prints at full quality and travels with the PDF.
Can I reuse an invoice for the same client?
Yes. Use "Save .json" to download that invoice, then "Load .json" next time to bring back every field including the logo, and just change the number, dates and line items.
What must an invoice actually include?
At minimum: the word invoice, a unique number, the date, your details and the client’s, a clear description of what was supplied, the amount due, and the payment terms. If you are registered for sales tax or VAT, your registration number and the tax breakdown are usually required too, so check your local rules.
How should I number invoices?
Sequentially, with no gaps. A missing number in a series looks to an auditor like a deleted invoice, which invites questions you would rather not answer. A simple running count, optionally prefixed by year, is all that is needed.
Does this calculate tax or VAT?
No. It totals your line items, and any tax handling is something you add yourself. Rates, thresholds and the required wording differ by country and by what you sell, so a generic calculation would be more likely to mislead than to help.
Why does it print rather than download a PDF?
Because your browser’s print dialog already produces a high-quality PDF with correct page sizing, chosen margins and selectable text. Generating one separately would add weight for a worse result, so the invoice opens print-ready and you choose Save as PDF as the destination.
